Scheduled Reprints?

I was looking at today’s releases and I noticed something interesting. June is traditionally celebrated as Pride Month for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people - and this upcoming weekend in particular is the “official” Pride weekend, when most major cities have their parades. (Major metropolitan areas have to fight over when they get to do Pride - for example, New York’s is so large that it forces anyone within about 250 miles to pick a different weekend.) With that in mind, check out a couple of this week’s reprints:

Coincidence? I think not.
(Verdicts: 5$ on the Rainbow Worrier - i had a reprint notification - and 4 on the Gay Pride.)

Also, unrelated: this print is cute, but I don’t think it’s worth $35. For that much money, I’d draw it myself on some posterboard.

Remember to use our exclusive coupon code, lovesthreadless, for $3 off any order of $15 or more! (Which is basically everything.)

Enter Big Al to lovesthreadless.com

Hi All,

I just want to introduce myself. I’m Big Al. I’m a late 20-something Threadless fan. The whole way Threadless does business is awesome. It’s fun and addicting. Over the last few months I tried to become as involved with the Threadless lifestyle. I came to know one of Threadless guys in Chicago and Chris of lovesthreadless.com. Since this is an introduction of myself, I just want to drop a few t-shirt that are really special to me:
Big Al's first Threadless T-shirt
One of my friends gave me See You At The Show. It’s a Type Tee on a Fruit of the Loom shirt. It’s a really loud design on a natural colored shirt. This is what started my Threadless love.

Battle of E-5
The Battle of E-5 is the first shirt that I ever purchased. I was looking for a dark colored shirt and the whole detailed chess theme caught my attention. It has a fallen bishop on the side, knights coming out of the King mobile and it has tank wheels! So much detail. I also was curious about the Threadless tee. I’m a fan of American Apparel cloth and the Threadless tee material is just as good, if not better.

You Sank My Battleship reprint t-shirt

This last t-shirt You Sank My Battleship is one of my first reprinted t-shirts that I ever purchased. I liked the whole Battleship game concept and the design was offset on the upper-left of your chest. I’m a big fan of offset designs.

I was sitting down with one of my friends and we discussed the philosophy of reprinted t-shirts. His belief is that Threadless should not reprint t-shirts. He feels that part of the fun is to buy t-shirts when they come out and be rewarded with that somewhat rare shirt that nobody else can ever get. If a shirt is so popular, it raises the bar for other designer to create an even more kick-butt design. I agreed with my friend. I used to collect Air Jordans and it didn’t sit too well that they reissued (aka retroed) the older Air Jordans. The shoes that I kept in prestine condition now became less special because people could walk into the store and pick up almost the same exact shoe. As I become more attached to my t-shirts, I feel that I will have that same feeling once some of my older shirts get reprinted.

This Week’s Shirts

It’s Monday, and you know what that means! We all need more coffee. Oh, and there’s 9 new Threadless shirts – 7 new prints and 2 reprints.

This is a really clever, thought-provoking shirt. While the colour scheme isn’t what I’m used to, it works well with this print, and it all comes together to tell an important story about our society.
My verdict: 4$

This one’s just cute. It’s a very simple one-colour design, but it looks good!
Verdict: 5$

Judging from the comments, this one is a must-have for chem students and anyone who works in labs. And it’s great for anyone who likes cute Threadless shirts.
Verdict: 5$

Rethinking my 5$, and a new reprint.

So I was excited this morning to get an email saying that a tee I’d voted 5$ for had been printed. But once I got a look at it, I wasn’t quite as excited…

Attack of Literacy! - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever
Attack of Literacy! is definitely a clever shirt, but it just doesn’t quite do it for me. I guess I’m in a different mood today. If it’s your thing though, go check it out!
My verdict: 3

I’m much more fond of one of today’s reprints, Pessimistic or Optimistic?. It’s a cute design, and if I had the spare cash I’d definitely go for it. It’s cheap for a new tee at $15, although from the comments on the site there’s some concerns about quality on the original print – and one poster points out that it doesn’t have the chino additive for softness that most new tees do. Still, if you like the design it’s worth a look.
My verdict: 4$

That’s all I’ve got for you today…stay tuned for more updates in the future!

New Shirts, Simulated Process Funtimes and a reprinted Sank Battleship…

The Season Has Landed - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever
Check out today’s new shirts, including The Season Has Landed, pictured above in awesome faux-process. The new Threadless printing options have really opened things up and it’s way exciting to see what the community is able to produce. It’s also a great deal more fun to watch the styles shift away from the cartoon elements from before with the newfound abilities granted to the artists. There are a lot of elements available to the community now, from glow to embroidery and simulated process and more, and it’s only going to get better.

This shirt’s a steal at $18. You should go pick it up now.

And check out the others from this week. And explain to me why S’more 101 costs $20. Srsly. (Ali suggests the fact that it’s a colored shirt?)

Get shopping! And don’t forget the reprinted classic You Sank My Battleship!

An evolution of awesome—new Threadless designs and a classic reprint…

Peaceful Future - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

I’ve got to say, Peaceful Future is one of the more visually impressive shirts I’ve seen in awhile. While I’m typically over the armageddon/wwIII stuff, this is a clever dichotomy and a well-executed design that looks just really good. My only complaint is that the vertical dot-lines are a bit distracting. (A word of warning: The shirt appears to be the army/green color in the design pic on the left, even though the product pic shows the blue version. Not sure what’s up with that.)

Liberty - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever
And if that weren’t enough, there’s also Liberty—a kind of noeveau riche, avant garde Flowers in the Attic. (They’re completely different, but it recalls Flowers for me at least.) It’s a particularly sexy design that really works great against the maroon. AND it glows. What more could you ask for?

Ctrl + Z - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever
Finally, Threadless rounds things out for the cool kids with a reprint of the classic Ctrl+Z, one of my favorite shirts. (Really. That’s my car.) I’m considering picking this one up just because of the crackling that’s befallen my print from overuse. It’s also one of the first sets of reprints on the new Threadless tees, so it’s extra comfy.

Check out the rest of this week’s prints and other tasty goodies and get shopping. Or, now that the sale’s over, sign up for Thriftee notifications to get in on some dirt-cheap-deals. (We tell you when your shirt & size rotates into a $10 Thriftee.)

In Pachydermic Fashion Prints, 98 Days Later

In Pachydermic Fashion - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever
We first made mention of Slaterock’s fabulous In Pachydermic Fashion oh, roughly 3 months ago when it first went up for scoring. Well, it should come to no surprise to most that this sequel shirt to In Oceanic Fashion has been printed as is one of four $20 shirts available this week, next to two $17s, an $18 (with puff ink) and the reprints representing the $15, old-school fabrics. (Remember, they’ll be going up once their stock is exhausted, but they’ll also be printed on the new-and-improved Threadless custom tees.)

Take a look at the catalog on your way to pick up In Pachydermic.

Threadless Switches to In House Shirts, Changes Up Sizes Slightly

In case you missed it, Threadless has switched all prints from here on out to use their own branded shirts instead of American Apparel or Fruit of the Loom like they were using before. This includes a few minor size changes and you can see the old sizes and new sizes on their handy size chart available here.

Threadless also announced some pricing changes to go with the new shirts. All shirts will now be priced based on what the design consists of, from a printing process perspective. (Alliteration for the win!) Basically, if a design makes use of special inks or any of the other cool printing processes they announced awhile back the prices will be shifted to reflect that. The prices will also outline exactly why they’re more than the $15 baseline price.

Good news for girls as well: Girly, “regular” tees are now $15 as well, so cheers to that. And no longer are Selects a flat $25, but rather have a price also based on design elements.

On the flip side of things, every print released this week costs at least $17. It’s unclear if all new prints will be taking on the “plastisol ink and a chino additive” method as the standard, but that would make sense and simultaneously mean that, practically speaking, the new “baseline” is $17. Still, if they feel as soft as my older Threadless Select does because of the additive… well, I think that’s a fair compromise instead of paying $25 for it.

It’ll be very interesting to see how these pricing changes affect the way they move their product, especially on more expensive shirts.

Threadless Goes Black & White

Threadless.com Threadless goes Black & White this week with seven new designs and two reprints, all either on black or white.

windsurfingbird - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever Windsurfing Bird offers a trippy, dripping ink-style, just-black design. Flightless is another bird-inspired piece, representing this week’s Select. Red Moon Replay is totally not my cup of tea but features silver foil on white with your standard VCR controls abounding. And still others flesh out the catalog. Head on over and add to your white or black collection.

New Shirts & Good Stuff

Legend - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

Monday comes and with it new shirts including the very attractive Legend pictured above. It’s all sorts of Land of the Rising Sun and Godzilla and other cool elements jumbled into one. If I wore natural, it’d be all over me.

Ketchup and Mustard is a clever take on my favorite and lesser favorite condiments, Lorem Ipsum style.

Take a look at the catalog for more and don’t forget to set your Thriftee notifications for a chance at it only costing $10.

New Prints and Cool Reprints

Miss Scarlet in the Hall with a Revolver - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

I got a tasty notification today that Threadless reprinted Miss Scarlet today, one of my long-time favorite designs that I’ve been waiting for for I don’t know how long to show back up in a Guys XL. Now, I’m hovering for a few seconds for it to maybe hit Thriftees pricing, since I’m plum out of STPs, but I’m gonna have to bite the bullet and grab it if I start seeing the stock go down.

House Salad looks way cool and there are plenty of other designs to keep you guessing today.

A plethora of gorgeous designs for your purchasing pleasure!

Today is a bumper crop day for amazing designs!  Nearly every design up for sale today is incredible, but, even better, three of my personal favorites and one I love but feel guilty about loving are up!

Sure, the sale is over and the coupon codes don’t work, but it doesn’t matter.  These shirts are
worth paying full price for!

Dragon Flavor - Threadless, Best T-shirts EverBest food in the shape of a mythological creature shirt ever. Ever. I’ve been waiting, salivating at the thought of owning this shirt and the day has finally arrived. I have no idea how Flying Mouse does it, but I’ve got to hand it to him. He knows how to turn noodles into art through some strange process of alchemy that I don’t even pretend to understand. I defy you to look at this shirt and not feel the overwhelming urge to put it in your shopping cart and buy it to wear on your naked, Threadless-loving body.

The Last Piece - Threadless, Best T-shirts EverI’ve been waiting for this one to be printed and the fact that I’m buying it when it’s on orange (one of my most hated of all colors) should tell you something. Namely that it’s awesome. Check out the look on the sumo wrestler’s faces. Pure gold, my friend, pure gold. And who doesn’t love sushi? I don’t eat it any more because I’ve sworn off meat and haven’t yet found anywhere to buy vegetarian unagi, but that’s not the point. The point is that that tiny little piece of sushi adds even more coolness to an already mindblowingly cool shirt. Buy it, you know you want to.

The League of Cliche Evil Super-Villains - Threadless, Best T-shirts EverSure, this design is on another color that I generally avoid these days (Creme), but I’ve been waiting for this one to be printed. Sure, I take issue with the dual personality “schizophrenic” (it’s a pet peeve of mine and, I’m sure, psychologists and psychiatrists the world over), but that’s a minor quibble. The comic book-style use of halftones and the gangster puppet make up for it. Wearing it, you can indulge your inner comic book nerd while simultaneously thumbing your nose at the hopelessly repetitive and unimaginative supervillians that populate said books. And you can do it in style.

Adorable Disaster - Threadless, Best T-shirts EverHands down the most adorable cats with a hand grenade design to ever grace Threadless or any tee manufacturing site. Look at those adorable little faces. Feast your eyes upon the playful way that they’re pawing at the very thing that’s soon going to be their undoing. Imagine them getting a Darwin Award for doing something so ridiculously dumb. But they’re kittens, they don’t know any better. If you love kittens and hand grenades, the fates have finally conspired to get this shirt reprinted so that you can proclaim your love whenever you choose.

Happy shopping, all!

P.S. Congrats once again to Flying Mouse for another double win! You deserve it!

New releases to suit every taste!

Whether you prefer cutesy designs like Penguins On Holiday, strangely gorgeous Selects like Strange Birds, gratuitously violent tees like Cat Got Your Tongue or just want the answer to the eternal question “Where do hamburgers come from?”, you’ll find what you’re looking for in today’s plethora of releases.

And at $10 for regular tees and $20 for Selects! For those who avidly stalked the Thriftees, waiting for new tees to make a fleeting appearance, Christmas has come early. Get a crack at the new tees in your size without spending hours in front of the computer instead of Christmas shopping or spending time with your family.

My personal picks? I bought Penguins On Holiday and Strange Birds and was so close to buying How Hamburgers Are Made (I may be a dedicated vegetarian, but it made me laugh), but, alas, yellow looks terrible on me and it didn’t make the cut.

Bunches Of Brilliant Tees.

Today’s shirts are absolutely brilliant, the lot of them. Runnin’ Rhino is adorable and the winner of the PaRappaTheRapper Loves contest. (It also marks Threadless’ SkinnyCorp’s 1,000th printed design product in the catalog!) I’m *so* glad Allan didn’t put Afternoon Delight on the poster… that’s one helluva carrot on the stick.

Away From Home by Ryan Lin is a truly stunning Select tee. If I wasn’t spending money left and right on D’backs playoff tickets, I’d be all over this. It’s well executed and visually fun. And it’s probably the first Select tee I really, really want.

An Elephant Never Forgets… TO KILL is predictably macabre. Elephant eats boy, onlookers look on. Meanwhile, Nonsense is cute in a “You’re Wormfood” sort of way.

Time to Babysit is very busy. I like the attention to detail, but I feel like it’s a tad bit cluttered and hard to visually reconcile. (I had to really look at it to try to figure out what I was looking at.)

Finally, Piggy Bank Heist is adorable, featuring badass piggy banks up to no good. It’s perfect if you’re comfortable wearing pigs on a shirt who aren’t themselves eating bacon.
