Now dear faithful reader, a very Merry Christmas to you indeed.
Tags: quickly now, shirts, t shirts, threadlessDevotees, apologies. I know we’ve been very, very bad at posting updates lately. Unfortunately, I (as well as Ali) both had deaths in our respective families, within days, and are dealing with that out of town.
Bree has a job that has picked up in busy-ness. This means much less LT awesomeness. I apologize.
Here are some things coming up:
That’s all for now. More as soon as I can, I swear!

I’m going to make this one simple so that you can get the GC in time for the last day of the sale tomorrow…
What’s my favorite Threadless shirt color? (Give me the Threadless color name.)
Prize? $25 GC. Leave a comment here and win it.
Rules? Only one guess per person. Use a real email address. If you (as the lucky winner) don’t reply by tomorrow at 1pm PST, I’ll give it to the next in line.
And comments are auto-moderated, so as to not spoil the fun. I’ll reactivate them as soon as we have a winner, which I anticipate will be very, very soon.
Also, I’m eBaying a $50 gift certificate with NO RESERVE. Watch the auction right here. It ends in three days, and you’ll receive it the second you pay for the auction. (It’s an easy way to save about $10 or so bucks, so think of it as free shipping!)
Oh, and buy your goods while they’re still cheap. While I haven’t been terribly impressed with the offerings, I picked up the sheep hair shirt for the hell of it.
EDIT: We already have a winner! The first guess, in fact. (Though we received six guesses in under a minute.) If you didn’t win, you can take a crack bidding on the auction:
Tags: 10 bucks, color, contest, contests, gift certificate, shirts, t shirts, threadlessThis is just plain badass: Threadcakes got some tv loving:

We were featured on Fuse’s The Sauce show last week. Very cool, and well-deserved by the winners. PLUS: Prizes are arriving! All entrants should have by now received a whopping EIGHT STPs, which is totally badass and courtesy of Bob Nanna and the Threadless gang. Place prizes are also arriving and are apparently quite awesome indeed.
Thanks, everyone who participated, and especially to Threadless for rocking all the prizes in the end!

That’s right folks, we’re entering the last few hours of our phenomenal cake contest! Your submission must be received no later than 11:59pm PST tonight. If you haven’t yet submitted your confectionary masterpiece, hurry while you’ve still got the chance.
Tons of new cakes are now viewable via the Threadcakes gallery and there’s plenty more to come. We’re getting swamped with cake photos as the last entries are rolling in. So if you recently submitted a cake, please be patient… it’ll be posted up as soon as possible. Chris has worked feverishly hard at keeping things running smoothly and he deserves props for a job well done.

So Ali finally convinced me to make a Consumable cake with her, and we had a blast doing it. (We figured it’s only proper that I submit a cake in the spirit of cake-good-times, after all.) It took about three hours, and we modeled it after one of her favorite shirt designs. (Rawr! for the win.
I’ve documented the entire process here, with more pics, but I’ve mirrored it after the jump.
(And no, we can’t win. But it’s cake!)

Also, don’t forget that I’ve added an RSS cake feed!
Oh, and please digg the site for me:
And check out the new cakes!
Tags: cake, cake contest, cakes, digg, rss, shirts, t shirts, threadcakes, threadlessI’ve gone ahead and added a bit of a hodgepodge RSS feed over at Threadcakes for your happiness. Subscribe in your favorite feed reader, or tack it up as a live bookmark in Firefox. (This will explain what I’m talking about.)
We’ve added a few more entries, but I’m hoping they really pour in this weekend… We’ve seen some great designs so far, so let’s see what else you guys can do!
Check out Threadcakes.com for the skinny (heh), or check out the cakes feed directly, hot out of the oven.
Looking for inspiration? Again, Engadget’s contest had some very cool entries. But you’ll need to get started here, methinks.

Edit: The contest is alive and well. Check out the website we’ve set up for the contest here: http://www.threadcakes.com/
So here’s the deal:
I like cake. You like cake. Cake cake cake. Bake us a cake of your best interpretation of your absolute favoritest Threadless design. Be crazy creative, if you’re good with cake. Make a straight up decorated design or whatever your take is on certain design elements. Send us a pic (or several, preferred) of your finished creation. Take a few of the process, too. Hell, even if you suck at baking, the absolute worst thing that happens is you eat cake. And that’s probably the best absolute worst thing *ever*.
Ze prizes:
Threadless has graciously offered to sponsor the first place prize: A 12-Club Membership and a pile of crazy fun from the Threadless Junk Drawer®. (Dude, that’s like $200.50 worth of awesome prizes and rare shirts!
Second prize: A $50 Threadless Gift Certificate
Third prize: A $25 Gift Certificate
And, if we can convince Bree, a random/fun Threadless shirt-pillow or shirt-tote.
Inspiration:
Engadget ran a similar contest a few months ago for their second birthday, which is partially where I got the idea from. Check out their results here. (And kindly ignore the fact that they have a much larger prize.
) Fun shapes, cool designs, etc.
The Rules:
EDIT: Hey kids. Please let me know if you’d like to have your pics included in the Threadcakes gallery BEFORE the competition ends. (All subs will appear after the winners are picked.) It’s completely up to you, and if you’re ultra-paranoid about having your design stolen/improved upon, just don’t say anything or say no. If you want to share your creation with the world, let me know in the email!
I’m making this pretty simple. Follow these simple instructions and you’re on your way to winning fun prizes:
Don’t forget to take pics of the process. Hell, blog about it. Cake is fun!
I’m really not sure what to expect with people + cakes + a contest, so I’m not limiting the number of cakes you can enter. Do me a favor and keep multiple entries in separate emails, for my sake.
Bree, myself and whomever else I think to ask will judge and select the winners shortly after the 20th. It’s true–it’s the biggest contest we’ve had yet. We’ll be judging on just how creative you guys can be. Sheer accuracy and fastidious execution may take it, or a completely abstract, new take on an old favorite might instead. Have fun with it! And eat cake!
Again, many, many thanks to team Threadless for offering a very cool prize!
(I’d love to have a pic in this entry, but my hard drive toasted and my replacement isn’t here yet, so I’m running sans Photoshop at the moment. Maybe Bree will toss together a cool cake logo for this entry?
Edit: Yep, done and done! -Bree)
It’s been forever since I’ve put up a contest (though Bree’s haiku one was pretty awesome) so I figure it’s about that time.
Let me get the details straight, and I’ll start giving away all these GCs picking up dust.
Unfortunately, there’s an extra $50 that appears to have zeroed out, and I have no idea if I used it, gave it away or perhaps Bree stole it.
Anyway, check back throughout the week and look for awesome. I think you’ll like it.
At long last, the moment you’ve all been waiting for: the results of the sushi haiku contest! It was incredibly tough picking only four favorites. We received over 70 haikus, each more unique and entertaining than the next. It would be impossible to list every one of them here, so all submitted entries have now been made public back at the original contest post for your reading pleasure.
The winning haikus are featured below (along with four honorable mentions). I’ll be contacting the winners tomorrow via e-mail to hook them up with their prizes. Congrats to everyone, you all did a stupendous job!
