A new batch of tees and hoodies hit the electronic shelves over at Threadless yesterday. Here’s my rather lengthy overview:

First off is Le Voyage Dans La Lune. The design is based off an iconic scene from George Melies’ 1902 black and white silent film by the same title (which in French means “A Trip to the Moon”). It’s not my style, but now that I understand the background a bit better, I find the design to be quite clever. It’s definitely a must-have for movie buffs. My Neverland is bursting with action and detail. You’ll certainly get your $15 (or $17) worth with this huge print. It has a classic Threadless-ish feel about it, too. It’s loads of fun and superbly designed.

With an average score of 3.29, the Threadless crew would have been crazy to neglect printing Don’t Play With Matches. It’s the perfect tee to wear ’round those summertime campfires. It’s also been printed on long sleeves for both guys and gals.

Knight Ride is another tee that takes a bit of prior knowledge to fully “get” the humor. For those of you not in the know, there was a a popular TV series called Knight Rider back in the 80’s starting David Hasselhoff and KITT, his artificially intelligent talking car. The Frog Piper, on the other hand, doesn’t take much explanation. It’s simply an adorable design with a lovely Japanese theme. It’s been printed for Kids, too.

I have to admit that Amoeba Boogie is my least personal favorite print this week. The funky bright colors look awesome on the navy tee, but the fact that the critters don’t look much like actual amoebas sort of bothers me. (I do remember a few things from Biology class!) The Kids tee is also slightly less bold due to the design not covering the entire shirt like the adult prints.

If you fancy looking like a giant playing card, then Poker Hand Values is the shirt for you. It’s a classy and well-designed tee which even non-poker players can appreciate.

Two reprints this week are finding new life on hoodies. The Communist Party and Doodle Bug look smashing on red. (Of course they’re available as tees yet again, too.) Just be warned: the hoody sizes are slightly larger than they used to be. Based on my own recent hoody experiences, I would suggest ordering a smaller size than you normally would unless you like an extra roomy fit.

That pretty much sums it all up. Now, go forth and buy!
